Catherine, coaching & consultancy client

We offer training in three areas:

Playful climate conversations: Taking the fear out of talking to young enquiring minds

This session will introduce you to our research-backed approach to climate communication and the importance of communicating climate change with hope and positivity.

Covering our 10 key principles of positive communication and how to inspire change, you will gain a new perspective to help you break through the doom and gloom narrative to inspire others to take action too.

We will explore:

  • Understanding some of the key psychological and behavioural barriers to change

  • Developing a new perspective on how individual changes can help systems change

  • Gaining skills in communicating about climate change with impact

Great for purpose led businesses, degree students and sustainability networks.

Purposeful Play: Developing a play-based approach to teaching tough climate topics

Blending knowledge from teaching experience, a climate change coach qualification, somatics skills, years of hopeful action and <ahem> being a big child… this session will introduce you to the framework we’ve developed with a child psychologist.

This will help you to tackle the big questions from kids and deal with eco-anxiety or fear for their future. Adaptable to other big topics like mental health, grief, friendship and family issues, this training will give you far reaching skills.

We will explore:

  • Blockers to effective communication

  • The power of playful and creative communication in easing mental health and aiding communication

  • Practical tips and frameworks for managing difficult conversations

Great for educators, parents, schools and community groups.

Thinking Differently: Creative & imperfect approaches to climate action

Creativity is Helen’s specialism and the life force that fuels everything she does. With about 7523 creative hobbies and many creative services in her businesses (from writing and illustration to book design and playful educational resources) she is on a mission to help people to start looking at problems from new perspectives.

Whether you want a more creative approach to climate action, creative inspiration with an environmental project or a motivational and playful prod to take a new direction, Helen can run workshops or work with you as a coach and consultant.

We can:

  • Identify where you are stuck in Rivers of Thinking

  • Explore strategies for looking at problems from a new perspective

  • Identify tools and tips for how to move past creative blocks

Great for individuals and business owners, wannabe activists who are feeling overwhelmed and anyone feeling a bit stuck.

Working with Helen has been an exceptional experience, as she has a unique talent for raising awareness and educating people of all ages about environmental sustainability. Helen's approach is positive, artistic, and playful, making complex topics accessible, engaging and fun... She communicates and advocates for sustainability in a way that not only conveys the message clearly but also inspires and motivates her audience. Helen's presentations are a testament to how impactful and beautiful the right approach to communicating and raising awareness about sustainability can be.

Farzaneh Fakhredin, PhD Assistant Professor in Circular Economy and Innovation, University of Bradford

“Helen's session blew my brain inside out again! I think she is the most creatively inspiring person I remember coming across since I was at Art School in the 90s! She is like a ball of brightly coloured wool that unwinds to just so many fascinating and sparkly threads; all rolled out with the most effervescent and contagious enthusiasm! It was a privilege being in the same room! Wonder Woman and Magic Mermaid indeed! 😎”

Your sustainability educators ⬇️

Nice to meet you! We’re Sally & Helen.

Sally (left) is an environmentalist, educator and speaker based in Sydney, Australia. She’s also guaranteed to be the shortest person in any room.

Helen (right) is an educator, creative, award-winning author and big child, based in West Yorkshire, England. She’s also a gold-level clumsy noggin who’s guaranteed to be the one who face-plants on entering that room.

We’ve both got kids in our lives: Sally has a son and Helen has a nephew. And we want them - and the children in your life - to have a thriving future on this amazing planet.
