Immersive climate play experiences
What if we could captivate children with the magic of climate solutions through playful experiences?
TOGETHER is our concept for an immersive and interactive experience containing 7 climate solution themed zones, plus accompanying touring and digital experiences.
Our pilot featuring the first theme - rewilding & nature-based solutions - is now LIVE.
Because fostering a love of nature is a crucial place to start in caring about our planet. 🌍
From September 2024 to February 2025 we will be running a pilot for TOGETHER - our concept for climate play experiences.
TOGETHER consists of:
A Huddersfield-based immersive classroom
Pop-up experiences in schools, community groups and more
Longer term residencies and events at cultural institutions
Professional development for educators and businesses.
With a proven concept we will then be looking to create our first full experience space in the UK, using all 7 themes in our cycle...
... and expanding the experiences to Sydney! And beyond 🌍
Think BBC Earth experience, Van Gogh Alive, and the many other immersive experiences that are gaining popularity right now... but combined with inspired learning, action, hope, colour and play!
Using a blend of physical and digital creativity, each zone will present the thought-provoking stories of scientists, creators, 'artivists' and technology driving positive environmental change.
The solutions presented in each of our 7 themes help children - and adults - to see the tangible actions they can incorporate into their daily lives, building hope and a sense of purpose.
Because the only way we can do this is TOGETHER
Within 7 years we aim to have a presence - either physical, digital or touring - in 100 key cities across the UK and Australia.
Our interactive, curriculum-aligned experience will cover 6 solution focused topics devised from the findings from Project Drawdown and The Regenerators 2040 documentary, plus our own addition of wellbeing weaved throughout!
The themes
1: Re-wild At Heart (Rewilding & Nature-based solutions)
2: Spread hap-pea-ness (Food)
3: Talking trash (Circularity)
4: Fabulous futures (Education, Future Skills & Eco-careers)
5: Float like a butterfly (Transport)
6: Light up the world (Renewables)
7. Wellbeing & Eco-anxiety
“Helen/Be The Future Immers[ed] created highly engaging, interactive, family friendly activities as part of Apple Day at Cliffe Castle, Keighley on 26th October 2024. Both children and adults alike participated in a variety of activities including playing on an interactive projector and using Lego to rewild and build green streets. All while telling the vitally important, positive story of nature-based solutions to climate change.”
Katherine Ellis, Bradford Museums & Galleries
Unlike many other educational experiences, we aren’t just giving just a brief moment of inspiration that leaves your mind as soon as you exit the experience. Our experiences are part of a larger eco-system of sustainable action and ongoing support.
We focus on the potential future that can still be created. We help children and communities learn HOW we can get there and WHAT we need to do. We inspire with stories of changemakers who are just like us. The people on the ground protecting our planet and fighting for the future. We take action TOGETHER.
And YOU can be the start of it.
Our playful learning approach
We align all activities with the the National Curriculum, play-based learning, climate action frameworks, and nature pedagogy.
We’re focused on UN SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) 4 Quality Education and 13 Climate Action.
Using our 3 part framework we guide participants through the following stages:
-
INSPIRE
We start with storytelling and visions of the future we CAN still create.
-
PLAY
We showcase the magic of climate solutions that will help us to get there, through hands-on activities and irresistible invitations to play.
-
ACT
We take action to help protect nature, connect with the local environment and take thee next steps to the future vision YOU want to create.
Aligning with the curriculum
There are MANY connections to the curriculum throughout all our experiences and many ways in which we can tailor experiences to your needs. So feel free to give us a shout if you need something specific. And for now here are just some of the ways we connect to the curriculum >>>

Climate science. It's not always easy to know what's true, what's up-to-date and what on earth a carbon tonne is... so we put it is child (and teacher!) friendly content. The kids won't even realise they are learning about biomes, footprints and atmospheres. Sneaky!
-
A large part of this experiences is also rooted in helping everyone learn to use technology safely, and to help in learning and play. We'll learn about innovative tech advancements around the world and how they are helping to safeguard the planet.
-
It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more.
-
We will be learning about social justice, community action, and impacts around the world. Through collaborative activities the importance of teamwork, fairness and responsibility will be highlighted and acted upon.
Thanks to our connections with the Australia branch, we will also be looking at what we can learn from First Nations communities and other traditions.

Your UK co-founder & educator ⬇️
Nice to meet you! I’m Helen...
…an educator, designer-illustrator, award-winning author and big child, based in West Yorkshire, England. I’m also a gold-level clumsy noggin who’s guaranteed to be the one who face-plants on entering that room.
We want the kids (and bunnies!) in our lives and yours to have a thriving future on this amazing planet. As well as a lifelong addict learner, I’m a big child, and so I can’t believe I get to play and illustrate books for a living!
As an ex-teacher/lecturer, I understand the pressure teachers and schools are constantly under and that climate change and sustainability is a HUGE intimidating topic to try and fit in on topp of everything else. I’m here to be your wingwoman and take the pressure off in any way I can.
